The 2014 SUMMER RENTAL ROUNDUP: Montauk Edition

New, 5 comments

Hamptons rentals run the gamut from modest to superlative, from reasonably priced to Holy Crap! Curbed bring you three rentals per destination in various prices as we head east. Today we look at homes in the peaceful town of Montauk.

Modest
54 Surfside Avenue, Montauk; Elliman
Price: $50,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: Small on space, as in 800sf, this 2 bed 1 bath cottage is far from flashy. Questionable paint colors dominate the walls of this humble abode. We cannot find fault with the location though, as the beach is just a stone's throw away.

Nice
184 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk; Saunders
Price: $175,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: If you have any type of wood panel allergy, this 2000 sf beachfront property in Montauk is not for you. But, if you've been dreaming of insane ocean views that don't quit, this house is calling your name. For a recently renovated property, it's clear that decor wasn't of great significance for the owner. Translation: if hanging out on the beach in front of your summer rental is your top priority, look no further!

Holy Crap!
6 Beech Street, Montauk; Corcoran
Price: $225,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: Color us green with property envy because this 5000 sf contemporary on Beech Street is just the darling we've been looking for. Sitting on 1.1 elevated acres, renters get sweeping sea views of Montauk and Amagansett. What could be better than swimming in your pool while staring at the ocean? Bonus, prestigious Hither Hills beach rights are included in this rental.
