Ernest Hemingway Wire

Over the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys is the peculiar home that once belonged to literary legend Ernest Hemingway, who lived in Key West from 1931 to 1939. The 3,000-square-foot mansion, which was built in 1851 and became a museum in 1971, is made of "limestone rubble" quarried on the site, and that's not the only unique thing about the design. In fact, "the design is totally unlike anything else on the island," says Historic Florida Keys Foundation director Diane E. Silvia. Curbed National tours the mansion, with photos. [Curbed National]
