If you're in a partying mood, head to Gurney's Montauk Resort for its annual Masquerade Gala. Tickets start at $160 per person and include a 1.5 hour cocktail reception and hors d'oeuvres, a five-course sit-down dinner, open bar for six hours, live music, a bigscreen view of the ball drop in Times Square (and party favors!), along with light bites at 2AM.
Another great choice is Southampton Social Club. The silver package is $95 per person and includes four-hour open bar (from 9PM-1AM), passed & stationary hors d'oeuvres, champagne toast at midnight, party favors, live coverage of the ball drop and DJ Steven Paul spinning tunes.
For a more sedate evening, head out to one of the area restaurants serving special meals. Pierre's is offering two prix fixe menus, one early bird (between 5-6:30PM) at $65 per person and one for 8:30 and after at $105 per person. Early bird specials include soupe à l'oignon gratinée, bouillabaisse Marseillaise, lobster, and cream puffs; later specials include risoto de homard à la truffe blanche, côte de veau aux truffe noires, and côtelettes d'agneau aux herbes de Provence.
Almond will host a special locally sourced four-course prix fixe menu on New Year's Eve, starting at 9PM, for $105 per person. Of course there will be a champagne toast and party favors! Menu choices include house smoked bacon, oyster Rockefeller coulis; spinach and ricotta malfatti; truffled poussin; and chocolate mocha tart.
At Rowdy Hall, a la carte specials will include truffled Balsam Farm cauliflower soup; country pate with cornichon and mustard on a toasted baguette; trout with braised leeks, fingerling potatoes, and American caviar; and hazelnut cake.
Nick & Toni's will serve dinner from 6-10PM and will feature holiday specials a la carte, including chilled lobster and avocado salad, with pea vines, grilled veal chop with truffled sunchoke puree, and caramelized white chocolate profiteroles with pomegranate.
