The listing photos for this property, which is a 1911 house designed by Grosvenor Atterbury in the Art Village, are extremely disappointing. Hopefully the agent is commissioning a new set. The art and antiques are nice (and hey, an Argyle chair!), but they're distracting from the house itself. The place is full of period details like leaded windows, old woodwork, and fireplaces, but it would be nice to see the kitchen and bathrooms. The house is 4347sf, with six bedrooms and 5.5 baths. Outside, there are old-growth trees, rolling lawns, and a gunite pool on the 2.1 acre property. As for the price, it's too high. While the property seems secluded, it is right off Montauk Highway. A larger house, farther from the highway, in the Art Village sold for $3.5M earlier this year. Granted, we don't know the condition of either.
