Amagansett Contemporary Combines the Cool with the WTF

New, 4 comments

We actually don't hate the exterior of this 2200sf 1974 contemporary. It's so odd, it's kind of cool. The interiors, though, particularly the decoration, are a scream. We adore the hanging bubble chair and the vintage fireplace. The carpeted spiral staircase belongs in a 70s bad taste, bad ideas museum, as do the fake palm trees, and we're awestruck by the "we're number one!" hand sculpture.

So anyway, this is probably a teardown. The property is 1.04 acre, but it's right off Montauk Highway. Asking price for the place is $1.75M, which is fairly realistic, we think.
