Sale of Water Mill House Funds Rebuilding of Ten Sandy-Damaged Homes

This house, at 108 Westminster Road in Water Mill, was bequeathed to Habitat for Humanity of New York City by its late owner, Sarah Rubenstein. On .3 of an acre, the three-bed, two bath house has water access on Calf Creek down to Mecox Bay, and there's plenty of room to expand. It was priced "aggressively" at $1.45M in June by Douglas Elliman and is now in contract for nearly the full asking price. Proceeds will go to rebuilding ten Hurricane Sandy-damaged homes in Staten Island, as part of the 2013 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. More than a thousand volunteers are renovating homes in Queens and Staten Island for this project. We're pretty sure Ms. Rubenstein would be thrilled.
