Fall Family Fun in the Hamptons

New, 7 comments

We focused a lot this summer on the celebrity invasion of the Hamptons. But now it's time to take a break from the land of the self-indulgent and focus on some of the local family friendly happenings. These activities are sure to entertain the little ones, but we predict that grownups will enjoy them even more. C'mon, a corn cannon is involved!

Children of the Corn
Embrace fall at 69 Horsemill Lane in Bridgehampton. This place has a corn maize that you could get lost in for days. Okay, maybe it's not quite that epic, but it's pretty cool. There's also a corn cannon! We're not exactly sure what we'll be shooting, but sign us up. And if the kiddies are looking for a new four-legged friend, ARF (the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons) will be onsite with adoptable rescued animals.

Murder Most Fowl
Hank's Pumpkin Town at 240 Montauk Highway in Water Mill is about the most adorable name ever. Boasting a pedal cart race track, tractor train rides, and a 50 foot tube slide, this place has something for everyone. Quite honestly, though, we are most excited for the "Farm Scene Investigation Corn Maize." We hear that farmer Joe had an accident and several farm animals are under suspicion. We just love a whodunit!

How 'Bout them Apples
At 50 Horsemill Lane in Water Mill, the Milk Pail offers a more subdued afternoon. Apple and pumpkin picking galore! FYI, leave Fido at home. This isn't like those fake warnings on the beach; these farmers are actually serious about ejecting your beloved pooch from their property. To be fair, the Health Department made them do it.
