Last night at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, the James Beard Foundation's Chefs & Champagne New York soiree honored Andrew Zimmern, the host of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods. Noted chefs serving the foodie-loving crowd included Empellon Taqueria's Alex Stupak, David Burke Kitchen's Zac Young, Morimoto's Masaharu Morimoto, Fresh's Todd Jacobs, Madison & Main's Eric Miller, and Delmonico's Billy Olivia. We sampled everything from charcoal-grilled quail with coriander and black pepper to salmon tartare with anchovies and onion emulsion. Chef whites were cast aside during the after party, as attendees gobbled up caviar (that station was cleaned out pretty quickly), lobster tails, cotton candy, and mixed berries. Cocktails never stopped flowing, and our taste buds are still in a state of euphoria.
