Bideawee in Westhampton recently celebrated its 110th birthday with a gala that included Georgina Bloomberg. Hizzoner was nowhere to be seen, but celebs including Beth Stern and Sara Gore turned up to show their commitment to animal welfare on the East End. Partygoers brought dogs to the event, and Bloomberg the younger commented to the Wall Street Journal about her choice of dates for the evening, "When you're coming alone to this party, it's nice to have a friend. But they don't bring babysitters to take care of the dogs." It turns out that for Hamptonites, canine compassion is a messy business.
