This very private 3-bed 3.5-bath condo in the Villas recently sold for $2.52M. It's very attractive, with fireplace, nice kitchen, marble everywhere, steam showers, landscaping originally by the Olmsteads, and a 50' lap pool. What's interesting about it is that the land used to belong to the Murray-McDonnell family, known as the Golden Clan, with ties to the Fords; the Murray-McDonnell compound was one of the largest estates in Southampton. Henry Rogers, a head of Standard Oil, purchased the land on which the Villas stands and built them as his staff quarters designed by Walker & Gillet. The property was eventually sold to Raymond Kassar, the former CEO of Atari, who turned the property into a single family home. In 2006, the structure was renovated and divided back into six ultra-luxury units.
