This five-bedroom bayfront house is across the street from Kelli Ford's oceanfront Southampton house. Formerly occupied by designer-socialite Carolyne Roehm, who installed the blue tiles in much of the house, the place was long-admired by Kelli, so when the opportunity came to snap it up and use it as a guesthouse, she went for it. (It's nice to be the wife of billionaire Gerald J. Ford, who is incidentally not related to the former president nor the auto family.)
Much of the house, such as the kitchen
and the hammam-like master bathroom
remains as it was when Carolyne Roehm gutted the place, but the designer and her sister-design partner added their own touches, such as tole palm trees in the living room, ikat fabrics, Swedish antiques, and bold checks. For more, see the May/June issue of Veranda.
