Brokers Say Hamptons Real Estate Market Booming Again, Rentals Strong

New, 4 comments

According to agents interviewed by The Real Deal, the Hamptons real estate market is booming, recovering from the slump after the financial crisis. Sales activity went up 29 percent from 2011 and 2012, and brokers are seeing bidding wars again. (We heard about a war over some land in the Georgica Association in Wainscott although no one would go on the record with us about it.) Hot nightlife in Montauk is creating interest there, although the strongest markets are still in Bridgehampton, Sagaponack and Water Mill. Rental activity is strong although prices are about the same as last year.
