Update on Swimming in Filth in Sag Harbor

We noted last month that after many years of talking about the problem, Sag Harbor is finally doing something about water quality at Havens Beach. On Tuesday, the village board awarded a bid to a local contractor to dredge muck out of the beach drainage ditch, regrade it, and fill it with clean sand and local vegetation. This will create a wetland that will naturally filter stormwater runoff. The work should be completed by summer. Dive in!
