The 2013 SUMMER RENTAL ROUNDUP: Amagansett

New, 2 comments

Hamptons rentals run the gamut from modest to superlative, from reasonably priced to Holy Crap! Curbed will bring you three rentals per destination in various prices as we head east. Today we look at homes in small but idyllic Amagansett.

Modest
64 Deep Lane, Amagansett; Elliman
Price: $50,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: WINDMILL! Curbed has covered the windmill house before here and here, but if you don't have $7.9M to buy it, plunk down 50K for the summer. Built in the 1800s, the house hosted Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller back in the 1950s. With 1100sf, the house features three bedrooms, bath, living room and kitchen on five private acres.

Nice
38 Shipwreck Lane, Amagansett; BHS
Price: $200,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: This house is very well situated—not oceanfront but oceanview. There are two acres with freeform pool and stone terrace, five bedrooms, 4.5 baths in 4850sf. Sleep listening to the waves all summer.

Holy Crap!
448 Further Lane, Amagansett; Rosehip Realty
Price: $490,000 (MD-LD)
This house might be more of a Holy Crow! than a Holy Crap! You're paying for the oceanfront location. The house itself is furnished with "custom designed furniture as well as vintage pieces and artwork by the 20th century's most renowned designers and artists." There are 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths in 5400sf, with a 55' pool, cabana with fireplace, and a koi pond with running stream. Most importantly, it's three minutes to walk to the beach.
