Fire Island No Longer Wants to See Your Junk on Display

New, 43 comments

Hamptons neighbor Fire Island National Seashore is going to start enforcing the ban on nude sunbathing this summer. There have been a lot of complaints in the past about overly frisky behavior on formerly clothing-optional Lighthouse Beach, and now that Superstorm Sandy has decimated the dunes that used to hide the naked goings-on from lighthouse visitors, officials are going to crack down on nudity.
The news was not well-received on the Fire Island National Seashore Facebook page. Carol Zaza wrote "This is beyond sad, it is tragic. My heart breaks with the loss of a very special beach that I spent many great years at. The thought of living on Long Island without the lighthouse clothing optional beach makes me want to cry." We say: get a grip, lady. No, not there!
