We really like the spare modern approach of the interiors of this 6200sf residence (a Farrell Building Co spec house) on Halsey Lane in Bridgehampton. According to the listing, the house is "informed by an aesthetic culled from its agrarian beginnings" (nope, don't know what that means either). In any case, the price has been all over the place: listed in March 2011 for $9.25M; upped to $9.65M in April 2011 for some reason, back down to $9.25M in July 2011, down to $8.995M in January 2012, to $8.495M in March 2012, and chopped to $7.95M last month.
For that, you get one acre of land, 7 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, elevator, a finished basement with wine cellar and gym, five fireplaces, and of course the obligatory gunite pool and poolhouse with indoor and outdoor fireplaces and showers. Whether or not any buyers fall for the spare modern interiors at $7.95M remains to be seen.
