The developers of the 555 senior housing complex in Amagansett have canceled their rezoning petition to the East Hampton Town Planning Board. Last week, Suffolk County dealt a potentially fatal blow to the plans, which involved developing a 79-unit housing complex on 24 acres of farmland, by rejecting the bid to rezone the land. The Town Board would have to vote 4-1 to approve the rezoning, and the board is known to be split 3-2 on the matter. The developers, Putnam Bridge, say they will reconsider how to move forward.
