Though we quite like the idea of this house—it looks just like the ideal California-style houses in our 1950s copies of Living for Young Homemakers magazine—we probably wouldn't buy it either. It's quite small at 1400sf, with only two bedrooms and two baths. It's been on the market for quite a while and has suffered several pricechops; this week, the asking price has been chopped to $2.995M, down from $3.2M. There's 1.3 acres of land and its own sandy beach, and the listing notes "this property provides for a building envelope of 4,000± sq. ft. home and even room for a waterfront pool." Hasta la vista, California Modern.
