We never featured this house on the blog because it's so…what's the word?...oh right, hideous. It demonstrates perfectly why traditional French-style furnishings don't go in a contemporary (built 1990) house. The asking price was $29.9M; for that, the buyer gets four acres of land, 200 feet of oceanfront, views of the bay, and a badly dated 10,000sf house. Will the new owners tear it down? Probably, although renovation by a talented architect and furnishing with contemporary classics would make the house decent-looking. We shall see.
