Alterations at the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery

A fascinating new exhibit by local photographers presents the abstraction and the transformation of natural scenes. Alterations, featuring work by Carolyn Conrad and Sandi Daniel, will open at the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery on the North Fork with a reception on Friday, November 8th from 6-8 PM, with wine and cheese, and runs through December 15.

Artist Carolyn Conrad constructs minimalist rural scenes from clay and wood. Lighting then creates highlights and shadows in the final photograph, making for a painterly abstraction. A resident of Sag Harbor, Ms. Conrad has exhibited extensively in the United States as well as France.

Sandi Daniel's work combines traditional and contemporary techniques and media such as gesso and gold on vellum. Her work transmutes reality into an alternative form, addressing the fragility of nature. Ms. Daniel's photographs have been exhibited broadly throughout the United States and Japan.

Join Carolyn Conrad and Sandi Daniel for a gallery talk on Sunday, November 24 at 11:00AM where they'll discuss their ideas and techniques.
