Go Fly A Kite; A Conversation With Laurent Tourondel; More!

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD SCREENING (120 Snake Hollow Rd., Bridgehampton)

Marder's free screenings continue with the American classic "To Kill A Mockingbird" this tonight night. Pack a picnic, a blanket, and some bug spray, and then settle in to enjoy Gregory Peck's oscar-winning performance as Atticus Finch. The movie begins around 9pm. [LINK]

CLOTHESLINE ART SALE (158 Main St., East Hampton)

On Saturday (rain or shine), between 9am and 4pm, Guild Hall with be holding its 66th annual clothesline art sale. Work from almost 400 local artists will be on display and available for purchase. Sales from the works are split 50/50 between the artist and Guild Hall. Proceeds from the annual event are used to benefit Guild Hall's year-round arts programming. [LINK]

SANDCASTLE CONTEST (175 Atlantic Ave., Amagansett)

Renting one might be out of your price range, but building one should be well within your budget. On Saturday, between 9am and 4pm, The Clamshell Foundation is holding their 21st annual sandcastle contest. For a $10 fee, teams of up to six people can vie for temporary construction domination in one of five categories. Proceeds from the event go to help local charitable causes assisted by the foundation. [LINK]

THE ART OF THE BURGER (158 Main St., East Hampton)

Our Best Burger open thread was rather well timed?not intentionally, mind you. On Sunday at 11am, Guild Hall's conversation series "Stirring The Pot" will feature LT Burger owner Laurent Tourondel discussing his passion for food, and more importantly, what makes a good burger. Tickets are $13 for members/$15 for non-members. [LINK]

DAN'S KITE FLY (Sagg Main Beach, Sagaponack)

If you're looking for even more family fun this weekend, why not go fly a kite? Dan's 40th annual Kite Fly takes place on Sunday between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. The casual kite competition (there are approximately 15 different categories) will also feature face painting, jugglers, magicians, and entertainment by The Jim Turner Band...just in case your little ones get bored doing their best Benjamin Franklin imitations.
