Despite What You've Heard, New Paradise Café Is Staying Put

...or they're trying to, at least.

Hoping to stave off the rumors of "the pending demise of one of Sag Harbor's most loved cultural institutions," they've taken their plight public. An eagle-eyed tipster just sent us this ad that the owners of the restaurant placed in this week's Southampton Press.

While business is busier than ever, they're running into issues with their five-year lease renewal option. "While the rest of the world adjusted to the major economic downturn of the past decade," the ad states, "Paradise has had little or no success negotiating a rent adjustment." We're interpreting this to mean: They want to pay less each month and the landlord won't budge.

If an agreement can't be reached and they're forced to vacate, the ad promises they'll "find a way to do it somewhere nearby."
