In case you were wondering why you were stuck in traffic in Southampton yesterday afternoon/early evening, wonder no longer. A head-on collision involving a compact car and a flatbed truck forced the closure of both eastbound and westbound traffic on County Road 39 near Sunrise Highway for about six hours. Cars were backed up as far as Southampton village after a law enforcement officials re-routed traffic and cleared the accident which had thrown debris across both sides of the highway. [27 East]
