Proving that the few quick sales we've noticed as of late are the exception rather than the rule is East Hampton's 6 La Forest Lane. According to PropertyShark (subscription required), the five-bedroom traditional first hit the market for $8.95M back in April of 2010. After an extended stay in Listingsville and a $2M pricechop, they've finally managed to line up a buyer.
And what exactly is this soon-to-be new owner getting for the as yet undisclosed amount they've agreed to pay for the place? According to the brokerbabble, a "shingled house [that] dates back to the 1940's and was probably part of the Georgica artist community." While the home itself may be rather modest, the location and parcel are anything but. It's set on a whopping 3.6 acres on Georgica Cove. Granted, it's at the northernmost tip of that swank little body of water, but with enough room to "build a new house up to 16,700+/- square feet," we have a feeling the buyer isn't too upset.
