When this Oliver Cope-design first hit the market back in 2009, it was as a spec house asking $18.5M. More than three years (and a whole lot of construction) later, the eight-bedroom gambrel behemoth's pricetag dropped more than $3.5M, but it did find a buyer!
The south-of-the-highway manse is set on 4.2 acres of rolling lawn and old-growth trees and offers landscape design by Edmund Hollander, a tennis court and a "huge swimming pool" (gunite, of course). Unfortunately, the only available listing photos don't show the now-completed residence's interiors, but the brokerbabble notes that it's "elegance at its best" and there's "nothing else that compares." So...uh...you'll just have to use your imaginations. And while you're envisioning the high-end kitchen, great room and whatever other high-end amenity they've most likely crammed into the home's 10,000 sq. ft. of living space, feel free to offer your best guesses for the final purchase price in the comments.
