Historical Finds

While the crews restoring the Bull's Head Inn in Bridgehampton are looking towards the future when it becomes Topping Rose House, their work has yielded some historical finds. They recently unearthed the foundation for John Hulbert's (he designed a stars-and-stripes flag that predates the one by Betsy Ross) 18th-century house and learned that a dilapidated building scheduled for demolition also belonged to Hulbert. The discovery led the town to commit to deconstructing the "historic gem of a building" and storing it while a suitable site for reconstruction is found. [EH Star]
