While not everyone is a fan of the pop-up stores that, well, pop up every season, they've become an unavoidable fact of life in the Hamptons. So, for those that don't mind patronizing a company that won't be around come fall, here's our first batch of seasonal businesses.
BESPOKE GLOBAL
Address: 46 Jobs Lane, Southampton
Phone: (631) 251-6077
The Skinny: To celebrate their one year anniversary, this online home furnishings company is opening its first brick-and-mortar location. Throughout the season they'll be showcasing the work of internationally celebrated artisans and offering special events like artist previews, book signings, and limited-edition product launches.
C. WONDER
Address: 5 Main Street, Southampton
Phone: (631) 287-2645
The Skinny: This store is bringing "its bright and cheerful vibe to the sea shore" this summer. Well, Southampton's Main Street, anyway. They'll be offering their usual product line as well as a few seasonal items like flip flops, picnic baskets and even a pair of roller skates. Definitely worth checking out, especially this weekend?they have a ton of events and giveways planned.
DYLAN'S CANDY BAR
Address: 52 Main Street, East Hampton
Phone: (631) 324-6181
The Skinny: Pre-diabetic children all over the South Fork all cried out in agony when Dylan Lauren's (daughter of Ralph) candy store closed its doors last fall. Good news, though. It's back! There's really no better place pick up some sweet treats before heading to the movies. Just make sure to keep 'em hidden from the ushers.
EVERYTHING BUT WATER
Address: 66 Newtown Lane, East Hampton
Phone: (631) 324-5693
The Skinny: Have yet to pick up your swimsuit for the summer? Mosey on over the Everything But Water's 1300 sq. ft. space on Newtown Lane and browse through their curated collection of swimwear. While you're there, make sure to ask 'em about their personal shopping appointments, parties and summer events.
HELMUT LANG
Address: 100 Main Street, Southampton
Phone: (631) 204-0231
The Skinny: Helmut Lang has decided to join the pop-up fray this season. If you need to pick up a pair of shades for the summer, you might want to stop by on Saturday between 10am and 7pm. That's when they'll be celebrating the opening with a Illesteva trunk show. Even if you don't need some new sunglasses, you may just want to drop in anyway: They'll be serving food and booze. FREE STUFF!
