Got stuck in that unseasonably terrible traffic on Highway 27 yesterday afternoon in Southampton? Us, too. Turns out it was a two-car smash near the intersection of Tuckahoe Road that caused the highway to close for 20 minutes (although it felt like hours). One car was so badly damaged that the fire department had to be called in to extract the driver with big BBQ tongs (but everyone involved is expected to be fine).
