F Is For Fake

Those with an interest in the rough-and-tumble world of antiquing might want to stop by
the Clinton Academy Museum on April 21st from 10am - 3pm. That's when The East Hampton Historical Society will be presenting "Caveat Emptor: Fakes and Forgeries," a lecture from noted authentification expert (and area resident) Charles F. Hummel. The two-part talk will involve famous fakes and infamous forgers while helping collectors learn what to watch out for when buying new pieces. Before you ask: Yes, lunch will be served. [EHHS]
