A Stop Work Order Issued For The Montauk Beach House

New, 2 comments

Chris Jones and Larry Siedlick, the owners of The Montauk Beach House, aren't having the best week. Yesterday, we noted that they're caught in the middle of a political pissing match between East Hampton Town Democrats and Republicans. Today, we learned that the duo has been issued a stop work order for the construction of a basement without a building permit.

We contacted Mr. Siedlick about this most recent headache and he had this to say:

"The Montauk Beach House has applied for and been issued multiple building permits. The stop work order is related to only a portion of the project and resulted from a misunderstanding on only one of those permit applications. It is our intention to cooperatively resolve this issue within the next 24 to 48 hours and we fully expect to resume work once it has been resolved. Our goal continues to be the completion of this revitalization project prior to the 2012 season so as not to disrupt our friend and neighbors in Montauk during peak season."So, there you have it. 'Twas but a simple misunderstanding and the pair hopes to resume construction in the next day or so. We'll continue to update as we learn more. · All previous coverage of the Montauk Beach House.
