Brush Fire In Manorville/Ridge

The wonderful weather we've been experiencing may be responsible for a record rental season, but it has also contributed to a pair of wildfires that began late yesterday afternoon. Since the last few months have seen very little precipitation, the ground has been drier than usual. Combine that with yesterday's 40+ mph wind gusts and, as National Weather Service meteorologist David Stark put it, "Things came together at the wrong time." Though the wildfires in Manorville/Ridge continue to burn this morning, officials are saying they have been contained. [Patch]
