How Much Is Montauk's Priciest Summer Rental?

New, 3 comments

Pricespotter is Curbed's asking price guessing game. We provide some details and pictures from a local listing, and you take a crack at the price in the comments. On Friday, we reveal the answer. No cheating!

What/Where: 5 Bedroom, 7 bathrooms on Old Montauk Highway (south of the highway)
Square Feet: 7000
Acreage: 1.5
The Skinny: For this week's edition of Pricespotter, we thought a trip to "The End" to check out Montauk's most expensive summer listing was in order. Longtime readers might be familiar with this 7000 sq. ft. contemporary as it usually makes an appearance or two when we talk about the South Fork's priciest summer rentals. The oceanfront home offers "every possible amenity" including (but not limited to): a movie theater for ten, views of the Atlantic from all five bedrooms, the guest quarters, a private library, wet bar and multiple covered porches. The property also has a heated gunite pool and spa that seats eight?that is, if you're not into the whole direct access to 110 feet of secluded beach thing.

The owners are actually asking less this year than they were in 2010. The question is, how much are they looking for now?
