Only days after learning that Zum Schneider is headed to Montauk, we've been informed that an American beer garden is on tap* for the space once occupied by JL East, 103 Prime and, most recently, Beachhouse.
Frank Cilione, owner of the East Hampton space that once housed Lily Pond and Philippe Chow, will if he and a few partners can end the "curse" that's been plaguing 103 Montauk Highway for as long as we can remember. They'll be opening The Hamptons Players Club?a polo and equestrian themed restaurant?this summer. The restaurant will serve typical modern American cuisine (another fish and steak house!), but it will also be home to a 1,500 square foot beer garden focusing on American selections curated by a Certified Cicerone. No specific date has been set for the opening, but we've been told they will be open Memorial Day Weekend. We'll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more.
