East Hampton's 7 Chauncey Close Gets Its First Chop

All the action in the high-end market as of late must have inspired the owner of this five-bedroom to make with a pretty substantial pricechop. After hitting the market last June with an ask of $27M, the house is now after a lower, albeit still incredibly inexpensive, $23M.

Designed by East Hampton's Zwirko and Ortmann (warning: terrible website) and erected by long-time East End builder John Caramagna (warning: this one's not great either), the 7000 sq. ft. traditional residence is set on 2.44 acres overlooking East Hampton's ultra-exclusive Georgica Pond/Cove. It offers a "double height entry foyer leading to a grand scale living room with marble fireplace, a formal turreted dining room, [and] beautiful Chestnut flooring throughout." There's a high-end kitchen with its own fireplace that flows into a screened porch with radiant heat slate floors. As for the master suite, it's got its own marble fireplace and also a "private deck with incredible sunset views overlooking the pond." The heated gunite pool also makes an appearance as does a pool house with a full bath, slate floors and a kitchenette.

Apparently, the home is not only for sale, but is also available as a filming location. Anyone recognize it from any television/movie productions? If so, feel free to leave a comment or Email us with the details.
