Doc Filmaker's Sag Harbor Home Finds A Buyer In 3 Months

Brenda Siemer Scheider, the widow of Roy Scheider and co-founder of the Hayground School, has found a buyer for her Sag Harbor four-bedroom less than three months after putting it on the market.

After looking through the listing photos and reading the brokerbabble, it's not too difficult to see why someone snapped it up so quickly. The 4600 sq. ft. home is set on .67 acres "on one of the quietest and least-known streets in the very center of the village." It offers high ceilings, wide-planked flooring, an office, formal dining and living rooms, four fireplaces in total (one of them is outside) and a dining deck overlooking the gunite pool. Not too shabby.

The most interesting bit of info involved with the sale (to us, at least) is the pricing. Mr. Scheider paid $3.5M for the place back in 2007. When she put it back in the market late last year, she was actually asking less than that: $3.495M. So, even if she got the ask?which is doubtful these days?she'll still be taking a loss.
