Southampton's $38M "Beechwood" Has Found A Buyer

New, 12 comments

Looks like we've got ourselves a contender for biggest sale of the year already. The 9-bedroom, 17,000 sq. ft. estate owned by John and Robin Pickett recently moved into contract. After spending three years planning and building with East Hampton architect Francis Fleetwood, the couple put the "home" on the market for a cool $38M.

While there are "too many amenities to mention", we'll go ahead a name just a few. Set on 4.5 beech-tree-filled acres, the manse boasts five fireplaces, media and billiards rooms, a gym, a custom wine cellar, a separate staff-quarters wing and 11.5 bathrooms. There's both a grand staircase and elevator that lead to a "charming" master suite that comes with its private sitting room, office, kitchenette, and balcony that overlooking the estate that offers both tennis and a pool (like there was ever a doubt this would be included). And what rich person compound would be complete without a fireproof safe room?

No word on the final sale price, but you can be sure we'll be watching this one closely. In the meantime, feel free to leave your guesses in the comments.
