One Of AMG's Most Expensive Homes Finally Found A Buyer

New, 6 comments

When we previously mentioned this Amagansett property it was in a feature called "Top 10: Most Expensive Amagansett Listings" waaaay back in 2009. At the time, the 5,600 sq. ft. modern was asking $12M. Now, about two and a half years and more than $4M worth of pricechops later, the home has moved into contract.

Part of an oceanfront community that hasn't had much luck finding buyers, the four-bedroom is set on approximately one acre and shares almost 30 acres (20 of which have been preserved through scenic easements and reserve areas) of oceanfront dunescape with seven other lots. As for the house itself, it's:

"...in mint condition including 4 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, custom millwork and cabinetry, 3 fireplaces and 2-car garage. Every bathroom is finished individually in showroom quality. Heated chlorine-free gunite pool with access to pool house and bar area. State-of-the-art communication, lighting, and security system ready for your finishing specifications."Before moving into contract the final ask was $7.9M. However, we have a feeling that the owner?a development company called Ds Hampton Homes LLC?settled for even less just unload the place. Anyone want to venture a guess as to how much they buyer was able to trim off the already discounted price? · Listing: 5 Beach Plum Court [Prudential Douglas Elliman]
