Quality Of Life

Could Southampton actually be cracking down on illegal rentals in the area? If the resolution co-sponsored by councilman Chris Nuzzi and councilwoman Christine Preston Scalera passes, that just may be the case. Spurned on by the zoning code violations recently levied against Water Mill's Rose Hill Estate, the duo is looking to reinstate the dormant Housing and Quality of Life Task Force. They're hoping the the group will be able to streamline the process of investigating and responding to complaints about zoning and building violations. While not the panacea some more vocal residents seem to expect, it is a step in the right direction. [Sag Harbor Express]
