$975K In Springs: A Mediterranean-Inspired Four-Bedroom

New, 2 comments

Where: 149 Norfolk Drive, Springs
Price: $975,000
Sale Date: December 22, 2011
Bedrooms/Baths/Sq. Ft.: 4/6/3500
Acreage: .52
The Skinny: Like another recent sale in Springs, the details behind this also inspire a resounding, "OOF". It looks like the last owner picked up this property for $340K in 2004 and then built this house as an investment. Sadly, the return was nowhere near what he was hoping for. When he first put the home on the market in 2007, the ask was a whopping $2.2M. More than four years and eight pricechops later, the place was finally sold for a fraction of that at $975K. So what are the newest members of the Clearwater Beach Association getting? Well, other than marina and beach rights, the house itself ain't half bad: marble floors throughout the first floor, 20ft cathedral ceilings, three fireplaces, an enviable kitchen, two car garage and a finished basement. Also making an appearance is a heated pool surrounded by bluestone terracing and a waterfall. There's also a "state-of-the-art" BBQ and an outdoor fireplace. Throw in a guest house with its own basement and it looks like the buyers made out pretty well for themselves.
