This was one of those listing we come across, write about, and almost immediately forget. However, the 2.35 acres in Water Mill was certainly on someone else's radar...it recently closed for $14M. Perhaps most interesting about the sale (other than it kinda came out of nowhere?we hadn't seen it listed in contract during our time in digital the listing mines) is that it's the first piece of oceanfront property to change hands since Hurricane Sandy hit. In fact, it's in one of the areas hard-hit by the storm (located just down the street from the severely damaged Water Mill Beach Club). Looks like the buyer will be one of the 125 property owners deciding on whether or not to approve the $24M beach rejuvenation project. We have a feeling they'll be voting yay. Just call it a hunch.
