Five Incredibly Pricey Homes Available Through Airbnb

New, 14 comments

For renters and homeowners alike, short-term rental site Airbnb.com has become a pretty terrific resource. Since it's all done through the homeowner, no more dealing with those pesky real estate agents. And, because previous guests are given the opportunity provide feedback about their stay, you have a better idea of what you're getting into. While there are some pretty killer deals to be found, where's the fun in that? Instead, we combed through the site and came up with a quintet of the more expensive offerings. Enjoy!

Huge Hamptons House
Location: Amagansett
Price Per Night: $2500
Minimum Stay: 2 nights
We were actually a little surprised to find this particular listing on the service. Why? This is one of the homes that Lee Hnetinka rented for his now-infamous "party houses." It almost seems like the owner is asking for more trouble when she notes that the 11-bedroom "will comfortably accommodate 18 to 20 people or more."

Architect Owned Modern Green Home
Location: East Hampton
Price Per Night: $1000
Minimum Stay: 2 Nights
Built and owned by Berg Design Architecture, this three-bedroom offers a heated Saline Pool, hot tub, organic garden and wifi (but no cable!). Don't get too comfortable, though. The owner seems pretty adamant this is only available for a few days at a time: "Please do not inquire about month long rentals, short notice rentals, or repeat weekends. We use this home most of the summer, and just let it occasionally when we travel."

8 acres, pool, Private Tennis Court
Location: East Hampton
Price Per Night: $1300
Minimum Stay: 7 Nights
For those looking for a little seclusion, this four-bedroom might do the trick. Set on a whopping 8 acres, the home comes with an extra large pool, tennis and basketball courts, a massage cabana, and all the beach gear you could possibly want...including a vintage truck with a parking permit!

Sagaponack Village Luxury Home
Location: Sagaponack
Price Per Night: $3750
Minimum Stay: None listed
Owned by "an accomplished interior designer profiled in Architectural Digest, Hamptons, Interior Design and many more" this four-bedroom number makes the bold claim that it "epitomizes the essence of Mr. Gatsby."

Luxury Home Near The Ocean
Location: Montauk
Price Per Night: $1000
Minimum Stay: 7 Nights
Located "within 1 mile of the village and Ditch Plains" this custom three-bedroom seems pretty well-suited for summertime entertainment. It's got a chef's kitchen, a stone fireplace, a deck with a BBQ and 8-person hot tub, and a pair of master suites. Be forewarned: The listing notes that there's an extra fee of $100/per night for everyone after the first guest.
