Citizens of the Curbediverse, we know most of you have scary/disturbing/disgusting/unforgettable stories about awful landlords, summer housemates, and summer rentals. If so, Curbed wants you.
Our second annual Renters Week is coming soon, and we'll be shifting our focus from buying to renting for five glorious days. We'll be covering everything from AirBNB to Craigslist to pricey and cheap rentals. And, of course, Rental Horror Stories. That's where you come in, readers. Starting now, please send us your renter horror stories for entry into a Curbed Network-wide Renters Week contest. The rules are simple: each Curbed city site and Curbed National will collect Rental Horror Stories and put the best up for a vote in individual polls. The Curbed NY winner will face off against worthy Renter Horror Stories from other cities in a massive poll hosted on Curbed National. Then—and here's the big thing—the national winner will claim one month of free rent funded entirely by Curbed. (Up to $2,500, people—it shouldn't be our problem that some of you choose to pay $10K a month in rent.) Our tipline is officially open, so send your tales immediately. Then sit back and start dreaming of better days ahead.
