While looking at shingle-styled homes for inspiration for a summertime residence, Michael E. Jaye came across a picture of that "was exactly what [he] was looking for." Unaware the photograph was of Grey Gardens, he sent it off to his architect and instructed him to emulate the facade. It wasn't until seeing a captioned picture of the infamous estate the he realized what he copied. While a few exterior details and the interiors (it's roughly double the size) don't match up, the Cape Cod home is a dead ringer for the infamous East Hampton abode when viewed from the street. Construction was completed in 2011 and, now that Mr. Jaye has now opted for permanent residence in Arizona, it's already on the market. Asking price? $3M. [CapeNews.net]
