Two years after coming together to fight saltwater fishing licenses and fees, East End town boards are taking their relationship to the next level. Boards from Southampton, East Hampton, Southold and Shelter Island are finalizing plans for monthly collaborations to discuss issues affecting the area. Southampton Trustee Eric Shultz noted, “Mayors have associations, supervisors have associations. It makes sense that the trustees unite." While we usually cringe at the thought of meetings, this particular initiative sounds like a no-brainer. [Patch]
