Hamptons History

Newly available on Hulu this week is the terrible-yet-awesome Lifetime movie from 2005 called Murder in the Hamptons, which is based on a true story about Ted Ammon ("a suave, successful businessman") and Generosa Rand ("his exotic, adoring lover"). Their bitter divorce was about to be finalized in 2001, but then Ted was found bludgeoned to death in his East Hampton home, leaving his $97 million estate up for grabs. Spoiler Alert: It was Generosa's boyfriend (and the couple's former electrical contractor) who did it. This movie definitely didn't win any Emmy awards, but it's a fun story to watch on a rainy Hamptons day. [Hulu Plus]
