Flaggbrenning

After that terrible crazy gunman attack in Norway last month, a Sag Harbor couple hung a Norweigian flag on the gate outside their home in solidarity. Then, one morning, they woke up to discover someone had set fire to it: "I have no idea who did it," said one of the flag owners, "but I think what it could point to is an individual who doesn't understand that that's a Norwegian flag and just sees another flag and has hostility toward anything foreign." They're hoping that the act was random and not "in support of the person who committed the murders in Norway," since that'd be highly disturbing. [Sag Harbor Express]
