After reports in the New York Post that there was some underaged drinking going on at Nello Summertimes in Southampton and allegations that the local police were turning a blind eye to it, word comes now that the State Liquor Authority conducted its own raid on the place...and they did it without informing the Southampton Village Police, which is the normal custom. The local police chief said that "because of the ?allegations in the Post article, the troopers might have purposefully not alerted Village Police in an effort not to tip [us] off."
