In yesterday's Style section of the venerable New York Times, there's an article all about how the club scene on the East End is attracting younger and younger kids who are "barely of drinking age" and who are "downright larval," thanks, in no small part, to the work of clever party promoters. The reason for all this? "Allowing junior clients past the velvet rope has become an economic necessity for clubs...[The kids] obviously don't have to worry about going to work in the morning and will spend a lot of money to get in."
