Now that it's August, it's a good time check in on our reader survey: Where does the Hamptons begin? Right now, a majority of readers seem to agree that the Hamptons begins at some point east of the Shinnecock Canal, although there's definitely a large group who believe that Westhampton is the official starting point to the East End.
