Taxi drivers in the Hamptons are very mindful about making a profit ($78 to go from the American Hotel in Sag Harbor to the Bridgehampton Jitney stop? Really?), so it should come as no surprise that cabbies are quite upset about that new Hamptons Free Ride service in East Hampton, which ferries passengers from the Village to the Beach at no cost to riders (the whole thing is advertiser supported). Taxi drivers are annoyed that the Village is "favoring one company over another" and that they're allowing "flimsy" golf carts on the streets. [Previously, 27 East]
